I don’t get the chance to photograph many winter weddings, especially a Four Seasons Baltimore Wedding! When Kiley & Nick first reached out all I could think of was how great it would be to get out of the house and get those creative juices flowing! (hello seasonal depression!) I truly had no thought as to how much this wedding would impact me as a wedding photographer. This was one of the first weddings that the “experience” I provided my couples was more important to me then the “photographs” (which are still beautiful!) and I can easily say this has changed a lot for me. Kiley & Nick are just that couple. Easy to love, loved by many, and so aware of what is important to them. When they first booked Four Seasons Hotel in Baltimore, they had plans for a large, extravagant wedding. They quickly learned that it wasn’t really who they were as a couple. Instead, they picked 30 or so people that they wanted present when they said their vows and kept the day small and simple. When I was shooting reception, you could really feel the love. Every time I turned around, there was another guest wiping tears and that’s really a testament to the kind of people Kiley & Nick are. Some of my favorite moments of the day include the aunt’s making Kiley cry (good tears!) during family formals, both of the Father’s sweet speeches, and the way Nick & Kiley lit up when they passed their iPad around with their same day preview images! I left their downtown Baltimore wedding feeling that I made a difference, and hopefully some new friends, too!
