A Washington DC engagement session at sunrise might be my favorite, especially with the DC cherry blossoms in full bloom! Chelsey and Ian braved the cold, March weather and were a true delight to photograph. I wanted to share the story of how they met, and why DC is such a special place for them:
“My (Chelsey) favorite story to share is our first two dates. The first was on FaceTime when I was living in Chicago and Ian was in Williamsburg for law school. We met through a mutual friend and texted for weeks before we built up the courage for a virtual date (which seems normal now!). The call lasted 3 hours and we knew then. A few weeks later during Memorial Day Weekend, I flew to DC to meet Ian in person for the first time. We had our first in-person date that weekend and even talked about how we would move to DC to be together! Fast forward five Memorial Day Weekends later, we got engaged on the National Mall where we will be doing our first look!”
I absolutely LOVE “how we met” stories, and this one was too special not to share! I cannot wait for their wedding at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall next month.
